Daddy Time

Since Barry was able to be home with us another night, I was able to grab my camera and snap some shots of Colton and Barry playing around.  Colton had to dress up in his Spiderman costume and do a little boxing with his daddy.  Daddy is so much fun because he gets right down in the floor with little man to wrestle, box and tackle.................boy stuff.  Colton misses this a lot when Barry is not around, so whenever he gets to come home for a few days, this is always on Colton's list of things to do with daddy.

They had a great time until daddy was wore out and needed to rest.  Colton was not happy, apparently he wanted to fight all night long..............so it was then pouting time...............

..........oh well, not always can we get our way and play 24/7.  There is always next time.

Day With Daddy

Today Colton and daddy finally finished all of the items that were on the check list.  Last night they wrestled, boxed and had a nerf gun fight.  After daddy chased Colton around and finally caught him......................

..........he then rode his bike around.  Daddy had to help him get on it first of all.

Then off he went, with daddy right by his side in case of any crashes.................

Then love and squeeze hugs at the end!

Next we were off to Bass Pro to see the fishies and turtles.................

and I took a picture of Colton with Daddy and the BIG bear..............................

and we just had to stop and check out their hats and guns..............................

 ..............................then we finally went home.  We had a wonderful day with daddy!

The Check List

Colton made a list of things for him and his daddy to do while Barry was home.  They headed outside after breakfast while I cleaned up the kitchen to get started.  When I finally got outside, this is what I found...........twinkies with their matching bandanas..........my funny boys.  They had already mowed the lawn and Colton was wanting to ride the big 4-wheeler.

Colton settled on riding his gator while daddy got the big 4-wheeler started...........

Next, they immediately got started on the first thing on Colton's list.........FISHING.......it was number one on the list...............

Fishing soon turned into Colton's favorite thing.................throwing rocks in the water........Colton said the fishies like it(yah right).  He's trying to find the best rock......................

What a funny boy.  When I finally left to head home, I had to get one last picture of my boys together.............

When the boys finally got home from fishing, Colton told his daddy, fishing.......check, riding the 4-wheeler.......check, mowing the lawn........check, playing in the playhouse.........check.  He was telling daddy what all was finally checked off his list.  The remaining items on the list are: fighting, boxing, wrestling and shooting nerf guns.

Surprise.......

This evening, Colton and I were unexpectedly, wonderfully surprised when Barry called and asked if we could meet him in town tonight.  He had picked up a load in Illinois that was coming through our town headed back to Springfield.  Colton was really missing his daddy, so this was a great miracle.  Barry was only able to stay a couple of hours, so we decided to go out and eat with him at our favorite Mexican Restaurant in town.  After dinner, Colton was so excited to get back up in daddy's big truck.  He loves to sit in the driver's seat to look out the window, honk the horn, and move the seat up and down.  Funny boy!  I'm beginning to think if Barry stays with this job a very long time, we may have two truck drivers in our family one day.  Who knows, they may even team drive together.

Barry's New Ride

Barry has finally completed his over-the-road training and has thirty thousand miles under his belt.  Congrats babe!  I'm so proud of him for sticking it out.  He had some ups and downs along the way, but he made it through victorious.  He's done an awesome job.  He was finally issued his very own truck that he'll be driving.  It's just the truck for him too; his color of green and everything!

Daddy's Little Helper

Colton was thrilled to see Barry this morning.  He hugged and squeezed his neck and would NOT let go.  The love of a child is so precious!

On the agenda today was the boys fixing the light switch in the living room.  It quit working about 3 weeks ago and I've been waiting for Barry to get home to replace it ever since.  Barry asked Colton to help him fix it and he couldn't wait.  They went out to the garage to get a new light switch and Barry ended up letting Colton pick out some tools of his own to bring back in the house.

Daddy started out with a little helper, however, the little helper got side-tracked and decided to play with his green lantern toy and the tool instead...................what a boy!

4-Wheeler Riding

When I finally arrived home tonight after work, Colton was happy to see me.  I thought it was because I was finally home.  It partly was but mostly he was anxious for me to arrive home so I could watch him and daddy ride the 4-wheeler.  Daddy went to get it started and they were off on their riding adventure.  I ran in the house to get my camera and made them slow down a few times so I could take some clear pictures.

Colton was giggling up a storm, he loves to ride that 4-wheeler.  I think mostly he likes being so close to his daddy.  He loves spending time with him and I just love that.  Some of Colton's facial expressions are just hilarious as you can see below.

They had so much fun being together all day today and that is what matters.  It's the little things in life that mean the most to our children.  I hope we as parents ALWAYS remember that.
