The Check List

Colton made a list of things for him and his daddy to do while Barry was home.  They headed outside after breakfast while I cleaned up the kitchen to get started.  When I finally got outside, this is what I found...........twinkies with their matching bandanas..........my funny boys.  They had already mowed the lawn and Colton was wanting to ride the big 4-wheeler.
Colton settled on riding his gator while daddy got the big 4-wheeler started...........
Next, they immediately got started on the first thing on Colton's list.........FISHING.......it was number one on the list...............
Fishing soon turned into Colton's favorite thing.................throwing rocks in the water........Colton said the fishies like it(yah right).  He's trying to find the best rock......................
He's getting ready to throw it.....................
He throws it as hard as he can......................
And it makes a big splash.........................
He's very proud of himself............................
He's getting ready to throw another stone.....................
What a funny boy.  When I finally left to head home, I had to get one last picture of my boys together.............
When the boys finally got home from fishing, Colton told his daddy, fishing.......check, riding the 4-wheeler.......check, mowing the lawn........check, playing in the playhouse.........check.  He was telling daddy what all was finally checked off his list.  The remaining items on the list are: fighting, boxing, wrestling and shooting nerf guns.

Mens And Boys

For the last three days, Colton has had some of his toys laying in the floor like they are sleeping with covers.  He had them all lined up in a row with his old baby blankies placed gently over all of them.  When he ran out of his old blankies, he started using his Spiderman washcloths.  Take a look.........

Tonight Barry is coming home, so I told Colton that he needed to pick up his dolls before daddy got home.  I didn't want Barry to trip and fall over them.  Well Colton informed me with his hands on his hips and a very stern adult look on his face that they were NOT dolls........they were "MENS AND BOYS".........goodness gracious, what in the world was I thinking?  Get it right mom!  Lesson learned!

Serenaded

Today mom and I were serenaded by Colton in the car ride to get her oil changed.  His new favorite song to sing is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".  He sings it so sweetly, it's absolutely adorable in his little baby voice!  He can actually stay on tune through the entire song, which is great.  He might still yet be a truly good singer after all!

He's always sang in church, but sometimes he's not on key.  I was truly impressed today when he actually sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" all the way through and hit every note!

However, this is the way Colton sings "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"...........it's truly his own version.

Chwinkle Chwinkle Littwl Star
How I Wonder What You Are
Up Above The World So High
Like A Diamond Has The Sky
Twinkle Twinkle Littwl Star
How I Wonder What You Are
Up Above The World So High
Like A Diamond Has The Sky
Chwinkle Chwinkle Littwl Star
How I Wonder What You Are
Up Above The World So High
Like A Diamond Has The Sky
Chwinkle Chwinkle Littwl Star
How I Wonder What You Are

............................and he just keeps going and going and going.  We could not get through to him that the ending line of the song was to end with "How I Wonder What You Are".  He just kept singing it over and over and over.  He also sings the one line with his own interpretaion of "Like A Diamond Has The Sky" instead of "Like A Diamond In The Sky".  Plus he still can't say his letter "L" quite right, he says them with a "W" sound and his letters "Tw" like "Chw".  My funny little guy.

Colton And Noah

These two cousins love each other so much.  They act like brothers most of the time they are together.  They fuss, they fight, they argue, they tease, they laugh, they tickle on another, they hug and kiss too.  We went out to Tres Amigos for lunch today after church and the boys made each other laugh and also picked at one another, but it all ended in hugs.  Just take a look!

Labor Day 2012

Our Labor Day was spent at mom's house this year.  We went over for lunch, visiting and letting the boys drive.  They both brought their own trucks this year.  See below:
They are so cute anymore.  Not only can they carry on their own conversation with each other, but they can also drive around together.  Funny!  Colton loves being close with Noah, so he kept wanting to ride in Noah's truck.  It's funny to me that he would rather ride with Noah than drive his own Gator.
They had a lot of fun together.  Don't get me wrong, their were moments of crying and fit throwing, but they also had a blast!  Most of the time, Noah would be the lead truck, but he kept checking behind to make sure Colton was coming.
He loves his cousin.  At times, they just acted like little old men, they had to stop and show each other what they had in their trucks.  Noah was smart, he would park in the shade.  It was really hot that day.  Colton found that the key his Gator came with actually came out, so he kept pulling it out when he would get out of it to ride with Noah.

They are just funny.  Finally it got too hot outside, so we decided it was time to come in.  Plus the boys needed a nap!  After nap time, the boys played with my new phone.  It had some funny apps on it, so Colton was showing them to Noah and they were both just cracking up at times.  They were both making me laugh, so I had to snap some pictures of them having such a good time in the chair together.  They were simply hilarious to watch.

We finally went home and my two boys got to get in some snuggle time together before daddy had to go back to work.  We already miss daddy!
